Tooth Brushing

All children in the preschool classroom brush their teeth daily after lunch. Each child is provided with their own toothbrush and a teacher will apply toothpaste to ensure that the tip of the toothpaste tube does not touch any child’s toothbrush. Staff should verbally guide children on proper tooth brushing techniques. Between tooth brushings, a cover is placed on each child’s toothbrush to protect it from cross-contamination. Toothbrushes are replaced every 6 weeks.
