Water Play
During water play (i.e., sensory table, wading pools) staff shall take precautions to ensure that communal water play does not spread infectious disease. Children shall not be permitted to drink the water. Children with sores on their hands shall not be permitted to participate in communal water play. Fresh potable (drinkable) water should be used and the water should be changed before a new group of children (in case a water table or wading pool is shared among class groups) comes to participate in the water play activity. When the activity period is completed with each group of children, the water should be drained.
